B-17 Flying Fortresses of the 303rd BG thunder over Old Weston church on the way back to Molesworth, winter 1944.

This is an old painting originally produced for a Christmas card, for which we have had dozens of requests over the years to publish as a fine-art print. The church is at Old Weston, just a few miles from the runway at RAF Molesworth and was a very familiar landmark to the crews of the 303rd BG. I visited the church several times during the research process and could really imagine the sky full of B-17s returning from Germany. (My daughter also loved going there in autumn as the graveyard was full of conkers!)”
