V for Victory

An Avro Lancaster of RAF Bomber Command heads out over the east coast of England on another dangerous bombing mission in 1943. The rear gunner spots a fleeting V for Victory sign painted in the clouds by the setting sun, hopefully a good omen for the night ahead.

These prints were launched on 6th October 2013 at a new gallery in Tuxford Nottinghamshire. The two special guests on the day were Sqn Ldr George ‘Johnny’ Johnson DFM who flew as part of Joe McCarthy’s crew on Operation Chastise, the famous Dambuster Raid and Eric Quinney who flew B-29s, Lancasters and Lincolns with the RAF and flew Lancasters during the filming of the Dambusters film. Both men signed a limited quantity of these prints.
